Happily, new books are coming out all the time that celebrate families with all kinds of structures. Here are some that celebrate LGBTIA+ families. Below are the 2019 recommendations – and the year is young!

Books for older children

As the Crow Flies is a novel told from the point of view of a girl who is questioning her sexuality and has to spend a summer in a Christian camp.

Why Do I Have Two Mommies? is a short book featuring a little girl trying to understand why she has two mommies when everyone else she knows doesn’t. The theme of the book is love. The other two books are more straightforward books for older kids.
